So far I'm very underwhelmed by wotlk rogue dps. I feel even less useful than at 70.

Do they at least make bosses that require kicking / spell interruption? I'm sure they will in some form.

There are things that can be interrupted (particularly with Throwing Spec) - so far, it's more useful in 5s, when Fan of Knives can stop several casters in a mass pull at once. Fan, so far, is too energy-intensive and has a 30 second cooldown, so it's a gimmick more than anything else.
One of the things I have found us to be useful for is Tricks of the Trade, particularly when it's a fight that requires tank rotations.
Noleaf is correct, in general, it's impossible to keep up with AoE caster types and the changes to tank threat so far means that casters don't generally have to "go slow or get gibbed".

So far I have been out-dps'd by warriors, hunters, locks and even druids at certain times. Currently there is just no "burst" or explosion of dps even though raiding rogues have generally always been about sustained damaged. On Gothik I was easily threat capping while I finished maybe 3rd in damage; not too impressive for 10 man. Generally I'm just sitting there waiting to have enough energy to attack again. I realize this will improve along with gear as more crit = more energy though I still think rogues need some assistance.

I've seen a number of posts by reliable "advisors" (EJ, others) that recommend that rogues use TotT on each other, not the tank. I'm dubious about this in anything but 25's; it would indeed raise our DPS but it would make for wacky unpredictable agro spikes.

Yes, we could turn tricks on each other.

Seems like the Rogue community as a whole is feeling this, most of the forums have questions and complaints of this same nature.

Basically, Blizz realized rogues are useless and usually only 10 year olds and tools like Noleaf play them.

One of the main issues is hit rate. Poison hit cap now 315, not including talents and white damage cap is some absurd level around 750. Many if not most of us struggle to get anywhere near this level; Blizzard's decision to stick expertise (much lower cap), haste and armor penetration on much of our gear rather than +hit just makes things worse.

there is a trinket you guys might find useful.. It has 73 hit on it.. BUt it has a use feature that is spell damage.. I have to hit like 420 or some shit for my hit cap for my spells and yellow damage on my shammy.. so i throw it on for raids...
comes from violet hold last boss i believe.. will find link when i get in game.

Grim Toll (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40256) from Naxx25 is what we actually need - unfortunately, we'll be rolling against each other and anyone else that thinks they need either of those stats.
tankshock- 12-02-2008
agreed.. but the one i am talking bout is easy to get :d and is 73... that is a huge help for anyone..
and for the record you will be rolling against me muahahha :D

At least I won't be rolling against Slipster, he got one last night.
